Open Question: When the coolant mixes with oil what color will it actually be?

by admin on Nov.02, 2009, under Air Conditioner

Hello, I heard to check for a blown head gasket, you should check the oil dipstick. The color is supposed to be milky white or like a milkshake…

what does this actually mean. My color is a light brown like honey and is a little darker towards the tip. When someone says lighter color, what exactly do they mean?

also for head gasket troubles what else would there be : would the car’s temperature be overheating and too cold, would the car have a problem with the heater or air conditioner?

Open Question: Why is my 2001 Ford Explorer over heating?

by admin on Sep.13, 2009, under Air Conditioner

My Explorer only has 74,000 miles on it. It has been a great vehicle so far, but just last night it started over heating. I didnt have the air conditioner on either. When I turned on the heat it didnt help either. Any ideas?
I have already asked the question about my overheating 2001 Explorer with only 74,000 miles, I just wanted to add that the radiator has plenty of fluid and shows no signs of a leak… what else could be wrong?
