Open Question: condensing a gas.. HELP!?
by admin on Nov.20, 2009, under Air Conditioner
This is a long problem.. any help on it would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance!
even if you only have the patience to do one part of the question.. I just cant seem to figure this out at all.
A refrigerator works by forcibly condensing a gas into a liquid using high pressure and then allowing the gas to expand from a liquid into a gas again, a process that is endothermic. In principle, you could use any gas to do this, it’s just a question of how hard you have to squeeze the gas to compress it.
Suppose I want to use this process to air condition my house. I’m going to use the exaporation of PCl3 to do this: I’m going to use a big pump to compress the PCl3 into a liquid then let it ecaporate. My house has 2200 square feet of living space and 9 fot high ceilings. At 298K, the specific heat of ait is 1.012 J/gK and the density of air is 1.2 kg/m3.
A.)It is a very warm day (35 degrees C) and I just got home from vacation. If I want to cool my 35 degree C house down to a more comfortable 20 degree C, how much PCl3 must be evaporated to do it? pIgonore walls and furniture.]
B.) If my home made air conditioner is 20% efficient, what is the total amount of electrical energy required to power my air conditioner while it is cooling down my house?
C.) Suppose I was a big fish and my house wasn’t full of air but was full of water. How much PCl3 would need to be evaporated to cool down my water-house.

by Arthor Ruiz Glowing heat is a. K. A Infrared Radiation and works on the same principle as a microwave. Unlike traditional heating devices, where the air in the room is heated, glowing heating system warms the objects and folk in the room. Glowing heat is conveyed through locations in the floor, in wall panels or in the ceiling. Here we’ll take a look at glowing floor heating systems. If you’ve ever tiptoed over a cold bathroom floor first thing on a dark, chilly morning, you’ll appreciate
